Pretty good B-flick sans the paranormal
6 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Without the hallucinations, ghosts and paranormal elements, it would make a decent horror movie. Good story line has all the elements of typical horror. But elevating it to a battle between God and the Devil makes it look a bit silly. We get the message, without needing to attribute to the two biggies or visualizing the guilt through silent ghost apparition helpers or paranormal wall scratchings. Would also be better if it followed through with more than one unexpected twist as far as the violence is concerned. +1 for nerdy looking & tough to break corrupt lawyer. +1 for original idea of killing his client with a stylus WITHOUT doing it. +1 for director's thanatophobia treatment. -1 for goverment investigator asking the prison director silly questions at the end ("are you God"? "Are you the Devil?"). Ok, for hard core afficionados of horror. For others, don't waste your time with this.
