"The Olympic Elk" is the fourth installment in Disney's True Life Adventures series. And, unlike most of the other films I've seen by Disney, this one focuses almost exclusively on Elk and not other creatures...though it briefly shows black bear, mountain goats and groundhogs. The film shows the animals from the beginning of their migration in the early spring through much of the summer.
The film is generally very good. For 1952, the cinematography is very nice and I really appreciate how much trouble the filmmakers went to capturing the interesting footage. Well made and my only complaint, and it's a VERY minor one, is the occasional non-scientific terminology used (such as 'wives' and 'harem')....but it's just a product of its times. Well worth seeing and very well done.
