This movie basically made the man that was supposed to be the law of the town into a murderer! What kind of message it was trying to send to the audience I do not know, but it was stupid, I can say that! In the end the sheriff DESERVED WHAT HE GOT! He deserved to be shot down like a dog and that was what happened! He ruled by fear...until the townsfolk took enough of it and killed him! He could have quit at anytime, but the only thing stopping him was pride. And the way he handled situations only made things worse! But the most idiotic part of this movie was him walking out in the street after he had been shot daring anyone to shoot him! Stupid, stupid, stupid! So no, I do not have any love for this movie and cannot see why any of the other reviewers think it is so great....but for me it made absolutely no sense and was just a dumb movie. No reason was given to the viewers about WHY he was the way he was, I guess they wanted viewers to guess that also. Again, how people think this was a great movie is beyond me! To me it was pure junk!
