I apparently forgot that I have previously watched this and rated it below average.
Because it was recently suggested to me, and didn't recall the title. Even now as I was watching the very slow burn of the first two acts, nothing seems too familiar or remarkable.
But that, I guess, is what makes this an odd movie. Because as soon as the What the-?! moment happens, I thought "aha, I have seen this before!" And it seems I was paying more attention this time around as the final twist made a lot more poignant sense.
It does start off relatively low budget. But the cast, especially Michael Smiley, is very good. It does get very gruesome but now I can see the purpose behind it.
I am glad I give it a second look.
