Godsend (I) (2021)
2/10
A Poorly Executed Film But With Its Heart In The Right Place
4 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A valiant effort let down by a weak, messy script, sound levels which are all over the place, mistake filled direction, coupled with some very poor acting, all of which makes this whole thing come across as a 1st year student film. Scorsese this director is not! Which is a shame. But this could become one of the 'so bad it's good' roster of cult films like The Room. But at least that was 'treated' & not just released in its raw filmed digital format!!

The lead actor I actually like, & I've seen him in productions that have a stronger script & he comes across as a competent actor. Ok, he's no Brando, but given a decent script with a far more experienced director & I think we'd see a far stronger career taking shape. But this film does him no favours. There are scenes that just come across as laughable, one example is when he has a scan of his head injuries & he is awaiting the results. But instead of been in a hospital bed, he's just laying down on a couch in a room. The Doctor tells him it looks like he may have a fracture of the skull (amongst other things), but the Doctor tells him to take some Ibuprofen for the headaches & in a couple of weeks his memory may come back. WHAT!!! That's just ONE of the 'gems' in this film.

Overall the film has its heart in the right place.
