Koi Mil Gaya - A Masterpiece!
7 June 2021
I first watched this movie many years ago and loved it. Then I watched it again a few years later and loved it even more. I finally watched it a third time now and if it's even possible, loved it even more!

This is one of the few movies that can cause me to cry, when Rohit's scooter gets destroyed in front of him... my heart breaks every time and I find tears in my eyes.

This movie is the first Bollywood sci-fi film to ever be made and released and does a spectacular job to! The storyline is absolutely brilliant and has us routing for the Rohit and Nisha the entire time. The special effects are brilliantly done and fit in perfectly with the movie with nothing overdone or looking fake at any time. Rohit's kid friends are awesome, especially Bittu! The Music/Dance sequences are really superb as well and while I normally skip dance scenes in Bollywood films, I've never done that in the Koi Mil Gaya/Krrish franchise.

The acting is amazing and Rekha's performance as Rohit's mother feels super genuine and really powerful while Nisha portrayed by the beautiful Preity Zinta has the viewer both checking her out while still supporting her ship with Rohit and also routing for her good and kind side to stay strong in the face of adversity. She is a wonderful person thou and ends up cutting ties with Raj due to his treatment of Rohit along with his lies about them agreeing to get married. The irony is Raj dug himself a hole and pushed Nisha away simultaneously and then instead of climbing out of said hole he decided to lay in it and get buried in it. Though the viewer will also be wanting this as it means hope for our favorite couple Nisha x Rohit! Hritik Roshan's performance as Rohit is on a whole different level, it's made apparent once Rohit gains his powers from Jadoo and Hritik starts playing a more or less normal young man. All I can say is amazing performance! It could have gone so wrong but instead went so right!

A moment that stands out to me and is one I'll never forget is when Jadoo leaves and Rohit loses his powers because of that. Raj and his gang confront Rohit and Nisha while they're walking home(after Rohit is celebrated as a hero by the entire town), Raj insults Rohit and Nisha tells Rohit "While Jadoo may have taken your powers away he hasn't taken away any of my love for you". This just reverberates so strongly within me, and Nisha is raised even higher in my eyes. She loves Rohit for Rohit and will stay with him at his side no matter what. Even if he had to revert to being mentally young again Nisha would have been there with him, loving him and helping him the entire time!

To round it off here's a rating list of each section of the movie!
