This is one of the great B-movie Gothic-Horror European films (quite tame on horror really), that it's not as well know as it should be. With a splendid cast, including the great Christopher Lee, a young Donald Sutherland and an excellent performance by Antonio De Martino, and a spectacular real castle used as a primary location, Warren Kiefer manages to infuse a lot of style and ambience into proceedings, also helped by a wonderful B&W cinematography.
