The Fox (2015– )

Could have been a lot better...

Warning: Spoilers
The idea for this series was good, but I found it disappointing overall. The "fox" female lead has lots of potential, but she's a bit too flimsy, not well developed. The disguises she puts on are fine at first but are carried too far. Worst part: The male character had just too many "cute" Arab jokes. He is never taken seriously, and I frankly found his portrayal ethnically offensive. By making fun of his ethnicity, the series really offends his ethnicity. I found everything about this character irritating. If they had just played him seriously, the idea of his existence was good - but the series goes annoyingly too far. One of the main underlying plots (about the son - spoiler alert) was too strung out, the answer about his existence too obvious, but no resolution at all. I kept waiting for a resolution that never came - and, particularly, I wanted a satisfying ending (at end of season) of some sort - there was none. I guess it was to be left for a new season that may or may not ever happen. That story line needed resolution. Instead, the viewer is just left hanging. Again, so many possibilities for a really good series squandered on cutesy jokes and silly disguises. Not a sophisticated treatment of what could have been a good series. If there is a follow-up season, I won't watch it - I am that turned off.
