Good for young children, less enchanting for others...

The Premise is typical: human see something they're not supposed to, and that, is, of course, magical beings. Confusion and chaos when the human being gets involved.

It seems the writing was purposely scripted for those 12 and under. Unfortunately, the acting is pretty poor, even allowing that it's a silly sorcerer's-apprentice type magical series. All the spells the young people cast don't work (I imagine it improves later: I couldn't get past episode 2 with any true enthusiasm), and they have to turn to their mentor. The human being, of course, who was never supposed to see magic, turns out to be the most inventive one - and also the most mature one!

I do wonder why casting picks actors who are clearly unconvincing, and, if you closed your eyes, you'd think them just any other 14 or 15 year old who lives in, say, Peoria, Illinois.

I think magic shows should be a bit more...magical. This is rather ordinary; it has none of the magic of say, The Wizard of Oz, or Harry Potter, or The Sorcerer's Apprentice, or...come to think of it, anything that requires a good script, the abililty to believe you've come to a magical land, or anything like that.
