Warning: Spoilers
Mark Rainey (Nick Nolte) is an awful person and a professional football player. Despite being married, he arranged for a rendezvous with another woman. However, when she tried to back out, he roughs her up and ends up killing her. Now, he IS a horrible person, so he puts her in her car and pushes it off the road to make it look like an accident. A teammate of his (Marc Singer) puts two and two together and confronts Rainey...and Rainey kills him! Later, when Barnaby Jones begins investigating the case, Rainey arranges to set up a fellow ballplayer...making it look like this other man is the killer! Nice guy, huh?

The biggest reason to see this is to see Nolte and Singer before they were established stars. The plot also is believable considering the behaviors of too many pampered pro athletes. Add to that good writing and acting, and this show is well worth your time.
