I have a lot of problems with this show but the one that forced me to write a review is this:
Orla Brady is a 60 year old woman playing a woman who had a son when she was 18 who is just going off to university. Come on!
Yes I know she looks great but she cannot pass for 36, and no amount of hair over her face is going to change that. As for Steve Wall if his character is 36 or so he should have worn sunscreen during his surfing career.
I'm all for middle aged women not playing grandmothers, still having careers and still having multiple love interests in shows, but that could all have been done with an older son who visited his mum.
Take away the silly son and back story, gratuitous swearing from the coffee shop lady, and one dimensional, cliche characters and this mingle be a good show.
