Eh

This movie is the equivalent of elevator music. You can just let it play in the background all day long without getting annoyed or excited.

People always remember Nicholson in this one, when the real standout performance is Sutherlands. He plays Kendrick perfectly. His posture, style of talking, the way he looks..everything is completely different from say, his Jack Bauer.

One thing in particular that does irk me about the story. All throughout the movie we are being told repeatedly about those brave soldiers standing on the wall, defending against a bloodthirsty powerful enemy. That narrative might make sense if it was a Cuban movie. From an American perspective its ridiculous. Just look at a map for Christ sake. That monologue by Jessup about how he has to endure blood and death etc made me laugh out loud. Blood has been spilled mainly by Cuban civilians due to american intervention, not the other way round.
