Warning: Spoilers
Here's one I never heard of before watching: HOUSE OF THE BLACK DEATH, a 1965 slice of black and white B-movie horror starring two genre titans, John Carradine and Lon Chaney Jr. Both were on a downward projectory at this point in their careers and the film is far from entertaining, which is perhaps why it's so obscure these days. Luckily, it's just been added to Amazon Prime so will pick up a few new watchers. It's a muddled and overly talky production marked by long stretches of exposition and small talk where not much else happens.

The background is a rich family and its legacy and various members battling for supremacy. Chaney is cast as the villain of the piece, the leader of a black magic cult complete with devil horns (!), while Carradine is less bad and trying to maintain some semblance of normality. There's even a couple of werewolves thrown in but not much is made of their presence. This attempts the same kind of gothic atmosphere in the black magic scenes as the minor classic CITY OF THE DEAD but comes nowhere near close, so they throw in some dancing girls too and they don't work either.
