Review of Dead Bang

Dead Bang (1989)
6/10
Could've been DOA but saved by casting

Not a great movie, but I found it easy to stick with until the end. It's curious that Dead Bang is based on a real case, but it plays like the average tale of that detective that takes things to the limit. It's very stock in that regard.

What's notable about the film is its star; Don Johnson, playing completely against Sonny Crockett type, as the broken-down cop who just needs a check in the win column. He's not cool, no one likes him, but the job gets done. The film might be forgettable, but the performance is worth seeing.
