Sunflower (1970)
8/10
The flower blooms where the seed once fell

"Sunflower" is an Italian drama about World War 2 and the aftermath as seen from one couple's eyes. It is little known here in America which is a shame because I found it to be an effective drama with beautiful cinematography and music. It was also partly filmed in the old USSR which was novel scenery for me as an American, as few filmmakers from here were ever allowed in there to work if I'm not mistaken. So even though the story was a simple one, it held my attention and created a proper mood and ambience for the subject matter. I would recommend. My rating 8/10.
