I always assumed Hallmark movies were just formulaic romances but when I finally watched one (my girlfriend's friends had, for some inexplicable reason, decided they should all watch and review this one) it turned out to be much worse than that.
You know the movie's entire plot in ten minutes. There's no story, no surprises, no dramatic tension.
You've got likable enough people (including Imposter's radiant Inbar Lavi) just sitting around spewing artificial chit chat for an hour and a half.
This is apparently exactly what Hallmark fans want. So many of these IMDb user reviews are a variation on, "this movie was predictable and nothing happened, and I loved it."
So yeah, if you like the Hallmark formula, apparently that's what you get here. Oy!
