Most of the reviews on this page are disgustingly partisan. They're either 10 stars from the right ("Watch this if you're a patriot!") or 1 star from the left ("Terribly made far-right junk!"), and, frankly, I find reviewing this movie in either of these ways to be quite lazy. So, here is a non-partisan review of "Amerigeddon."
"Amerigeddon" is more professional than you might think. Many of the actors actually come straight from L. A., and act well. The action scenes are not half bad for being low-budget. A couple scenes succeeded in making me wonder, "What would I do in this scenario? Would I hide or fight?" The production value and music are very close to Hollywood quality.
Now, is this movie perfect? Alas, no. A few of the actors (most playing minor characters) do show on-screen that this is their first movie. Also, the special effects are at times amateur-looking; however, I believe that this will only matter if you forget that this is a low-budget film.
In conclusion, is "Amerigeddon" worth watching? I believe so. If you don't wish to spend your money on it, it's free on YouTube. Once again, it may be a political movie, but that is no excuse for reviewing it flippantly.
