This was a stinker...

Warning: Spoilers
Now, the synopsis for the 2021 sci-fi thriller "Mother/Android" actually sounded interesting, and I must admit that with Chloë Grace Moretz on the cast list, then I would be almost certainly guaranteed a properly entertaining movie.

So I sat down to watch this movie from writer and director Mattson Tomlin without actually having heard about it prior to watching it, so I wasn't really sure what to expect here.

And talk about a swing and a miss of a movie. What sounded interesting enough on paper and in synopsis didn't translate well into a properly entertaining or enjoyable movie. I have to say that I feel like I was watching a super diluted and watered down version of the Skynet war on humanity as seen in "The Terminator" franchise. Except writer and director Mattson Tomlin didn't even deliver anything that reached aforementioned franchise to the ankles.

The storyline was boring and mundane, and there just simply wasn't enough of contents to the storyline to make the movie bearable to watch. In fact, I actually dozed off about halfway through the ordeal. And the pacing of the narrative in "Mother/Android" just lacked speed and intensity. So you are in for somewhat of a snoozefest here.

Visually then "Mother/Android" was actually okay. Not a movie that was using an abundance of special effects and CGI, but whatever was used was actually functioning quite well.

I found "Mother/Android" to be a disappointment, and it is not a movie that I would recommend you waste your time, money or effort on.

My rating of writer and director Mattson Tomlin's 2021 movie "Mother/Android" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
