Yes, this show is woke. But that isn't the issue. They ruined the story. That's the issue. The books have sold tens of millions of copies. There's a fanbase millions strong. Why not just follow the books? Especially the first six books, which are excellent. No green man, no forsaken, no rand destroying the trolloc army, no encounter with the demon guy in Shaddar Logoth, no Elias to teach about the wolf dream, no worms or lake monster in the blight, not starting off the show with Lews Therrin creating Dragon Mount. What the hell. Most of the best parts of the book were removed. I'm not a purist. Changes can be good, but none of the changes were. People who haven't read the books might like it because ignorance is bliss: they don't understand how good this show could have been.
