Marvin seemed to be a decent guy at his wit's end. It's a shame what drove him to that point where he felt he had nothing left and the evils done to him, in which he felt he had to take justice into his own hands. I wouldn't call him a hero but he's not a villain either. The documentary itself was ok I think it could've delved more into the corruption aspect of the politics. How much crap can a reasonable person take from the powers that be? However, a reasonable person would've left the town wherein clearly there's nepotism involved and old money running the show. He acted out the anarchist's fantasy, but that's not a practical way of doing anything. Non-aggression is the way. I can't say I blame him and I have sympathy for him. I have no sympathy for people like the Thompson's.
