I just cannot watch enough Varda. Always interesting philosophically with interesting dialogue, often quirky and always memorable performances. Here too her colour pallet is just very clever too. An innocent man who will do whatever makes him happy regardless of social convention. Unfaithful to his wife who he loves but innocently telling her what he has done he triggers her death. Then, though sad, replaces her and carries on as before as summer turns to autumn. Who is wrong? The philanderer, the mistress, the mother leaving her children for no real reason, convention.
