I knew about these crimes before watching the miniseries, but the show really brought a reality to the cold textual facts about this criminal. Douglas Henshall plays Inspector Muncie to perfection. I confess, i learned things about Muncie that I'd never known before (you see the facts in end credits) and his close rate blew my mind. On top of all the top notch acting, the period wardrobe is incredible. I highly recommend.
