Better than some reviews make you believe it is.

I really thought this was going to be a real bad teenagers in space movie. To my surprise it was not.

Its a simple movie, Depicting standard characters but really strong ones that actually carry the entire premise of the story for what it is and the whole thing works surprisingly well. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time even when stuff went predictable.

I always loved space stories set on arc-ships and this one is good. Makes really good use of the limited sets and the whole thing is very atmospheric. Also it poses some good questions about human behavior if a mission like this will happen in the future.

The trailer actually makes it seem more bland and empty than the movie is and that surprised me.

If you like scifi movies like Passengers , even Interstellar you should give this simple story a chance. The ending is also simple but very appropriate too.

Voyagers reminded me at a certain point also of one of my favorite scifi movies of recent years too, the Swiss movie Aniara about another world-ship lost in space on a voyage of decades through the void.

So if you like hard scifi , and in particular you belong to that genaration that grew up with some classic novels from the 60s and 70s where this type of story was very common, you should definetly ignore all the bad hype and take a look at this movie.

Good stuff.
