I love romcoms of the 30's,40's and 50's including the Doris Day/Rock Hudson comedy team. I love the Day/Hudson comedies because Doris is independent yet still falls for the guy. We laugh with them not at them
But unfortunately this movie is beyond the pale in gender relationships,even Rock Hudson hated it. (Check trivia)
The man has to beat women,be dominate, can be killed for being unfaithful and so on. It's medieval. I don't laugh at those values I fast forwarded it because I was just choking and it's cruel, it's normal for a man to hate his mother I just can't bear it Don't watch if you like funny romantic humor.
