Light Hearted But Not Likeable
8 April 2022
I'm surprised to see the reviews of critics and audience. We should all praise it just because this is the last movie of Rishi Kapoor ????

Rishi Kapoor has done fantastic work in a lot of better movies so it is an inappropriate tribute to his legacy.

If he has to be remembered for his later year movies then those should be Mulk, Agnipath, Do Duni Chaar or even Rajma Chawal and not Sharmaji Namkeen.

In the beginning of the movie, Rishi's son Ranbeer Kapoor praises the efforts of Paresh Rawal for filling in his father's shoes. That credit is definitely due but Paresh Rawal's all throughout grumpy face causes an embarrassment to Rishi Kapoor's cheerful demeanor. But what would Paresh Rawal do in absence of a good storyline and decent script.

The saving grace is that the movie is lighthearted.

But it is a forgettable movie. 6 months down the line no one would remember it.
