Pretentious detritus

Warning: Spoilers
Ordinarily I am a big fan of director Werner Fassbinder, but this film is so full of unpleasant or uninteresting characters that after an hour of trying to make it to the credits, I pushed "delete."

We have a story here of cheating spouses and their disabled daughter, whom they seem to alternatingly hate or ignore. Throw in their brooding lovers, a nasty maid and her enigmatic son, and an overly long game akin to "20 questions" in German, and you've created one doozy of a downer.

I don't know what got into Fassbinder to waste his talents on this drivel. I've had better times watching Sprockets on "Saturday Night Live."
