Pushing Tin was based on an extraordinary New York Times article written by Darcy Frey, "Something's Got to Give" about the extreme stress faced by air traffic controllers. Somehow the movie was somehow lacking in the parts and I'm not entirely sure why. Maybe the melodrama got in the way and the extramarital affairs amongst the characters in the movie kind of somehow got in the way of a true life dramatic story.
