Pets Taking Over For The Heroes
30 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I saw DC League of Super_Pets, starring the voices of Dwayne Johnson-Jungle Cruise, Central Intelligence; Kevin Hart-Night School, Central Intelligence; Kate McKinnon-SNL_tv, The Spy Who Dumped Me and John Krasinski-Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, A Quiet Place.

This is an animated tale of pets taking over for the super heroes. Dwayne voices Krypto, Superman's pet dog, that has the same powers as Superman. John voices Superman. When Lex Luthor's pet guinea pig, voiced by Kate, gains powers from orange Kryptonite and takes out the Justice League, it's up to Dwayne to try and stop her. Fortunately, a dog, voiced by Kevin, and some other pets-a pig, turtle and squirrel-also gain powers in the same incident and team up with Dwayne to fight the good fight. There is a side story involving Dwayne's jealousy of the relationship between his owner and Lois Lane and each of the other pets correspond to a different hero-Kevin with Batman, the turtle with The Flash, the pig with Wonder Woman and the squirrel with Green Lantern. There is a scene right after the end credits start and one at the very end-that one involves another super hero and his pet. There are some good voice acting by other characters too-I liked Keanu Reeves as Batman-and it ends hinting at a sequel.

It's rated PG for action, violence, language and rude humor and has a running time of 1 hour & 46 minutes.

I like super hero movies so of course, I would buy this one on DVD.
