The Music Box (1932)
6/10
Laurel and Hardy doing hard labor...
4 August 2022
The 1932 short film comedy "The Music Box" is an enjoyable Laurel and Hardy movie, much in the spirit of their other movies. So if you've enjoyed any other of their classic slapstick comedy, then you will also enjoy this one.

The storyline in this movie is good and enjoyable. However, the movie seems a bit toned down in terms of witty banter and physical comedy. Sure, it is there, but just not in an abundance. But that doesn't mean that "The Music Box" isn't still enjoyable, because it certainly is.

It is great to see Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy on the screen as they struggle to carry a large crate with a piano up a flight of stairs and then to deliver it into the home of the recipient. There are good laughs on the way, as the duo gets into lots of mischief and bad luck strikes.

"The Music Box" is an enjoyable classic comedy for the entire family.

My rating of director James Parrott's 1932 classic lands on a six out of ten stars.
