7/10
Ahahahaha - wow....

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. The Story of Ricky is notorious for being a hyper-violent gorefest based on an equally hyper violent manga, and even though it certainly lives up to that title - the violence and gore is so OTT, so... so... ridiculous that you just can't take it seriously. The makers clearly weren't. The film is basically a prison drama where a new inmate (Ricky) decides to bring down an secret opium farm from within. Seems rather stock so far. Oh, did I mention that Ricky also has superhuman strength and is basically invincible? Who can punch people so hard in the face that their head explodes? Who can punch so hard in fact that he doesnt even need to actually hit you to injure you? Add hilarious gore effects, x-ray face breaking, gas bullets that make you burst like a balloon and a final fight involving a hulk ripoff and a meat grinder, and boy are you in for a good time. I mean, as a film its a 5/10, but the sheer absurdity of it bumps it up a few numbers...
