Review of Do You Wanna Know a Secret?

Amongst all the copycats, there were those that got « direct to video » releases. Studios clearly green lit, expecting some money in return. Do You Wanna Know a Secret, is one of them. It's trying to be I know What You Did Last Summer, Sleepaway Camp and Scream even. Without the money and skills. And it's awful. Joey Lawrence going from a popular franchise sequel, to this. Is unbelievable. There seems to be a big budget cut at one point, because his character disappears without any explanation. But the overall movie was cheap, anyway. And the ending and killer's motive made absolutely no sense. I know there's an explanation somewhere, but him obsessing over a girl, because his father was a priest. Is hardly groundbreaking stuff. And I guessed who the killer was, the minute he appeared on screen. It's all so predictable, you just laugh at the bad acting and direction. There was one good death scene, that made me think the movie was on the right track. But it wasn't, and clearly couldn't. To avoid, or watch as one of those syfy movies with lame CGI sharks.
