The master of surrealism working at Gringo's land which it didn't take so long makes a realistic movie whereby exposes two neuralgic woes at American ground the racial profiling and the religion intruding in society issues, both dealing with superbly due the story takes place at southeast where it was deeply rooted in the natives.

Recurrent fact about an alleged rape perpetrated by a young black musician Traver (Bernie Hamilton) over a white widow woman who have a dubious character, he ran in a little boat headed randomly into a private island whose is in charge of a tough guy Miller (Zachary Scott) who living there with a teenager girl around her pubescence whose take care of his old grandfather about to die, after the grandfather's death Miller tries out a slight sexual harassment, soon Traver appears at cabin asking for some supplies and tools to make repairs in his damage's boat to slipping away, Miller otherwise disagree with such aid of the girl, firstly hunting and finally accepting Traver there whereas work for food, in the mist of the night the harassment is finally accomplished.

The sudden arrived of a priest and another Island's owner employee the things will slowly clarifying to wise Priest, Traver is innocent and the girl was deflorated, Luis Bunnel whose didn't have any prudishness to tell forbidden issues treats it through his own latin's people point of view, showing his heavy fingerprints in this kind of matter when he assets the unpredictable final!!
