Review of The School for Good and Evil

I didn't know much about the movie prior to seeing it but I thought it must be good given some of it's core cast - Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Michelle Yeoh and Laurence Fishburne. The premise for this movie isn't anything new but it had potential to be more than what ended up being the finishing product. Sophia Anne Caruso does a great job as Sophie and was convincing as both good and evil. Unfortunately Sofia Wylie was miscast as Agatha and it was hard to get behind the character when her emotional range was nonexistent. Charlize, Michelle and Laurence's characters were completely underused and Kerry's character was just annoying. There was something lacking in the story given it's long running time; I was waiting for something more to happen and then it ended. I think watching this once was enough for me...
