I'm really just writing a review to weigh in on the hot Bob Dobalina debate in the trivia section. While only the show's writers can really settle the debate, I fall on the side of the Del the Funky Homosapien theory. I'm actually closer to the age Shawn should be, since I went to high school in the 80s (this is a whole different debate I won't get into now). I grew up watching Monkees reruns and one of their greatest hits collections was maybe the first record I ever bought as a small child. (It involved lax parenting and COD delivery.) Yet I had no idea they was the origin of Bob Dobalina until the internet came along. As a teen, I knew it only from the DTFH song. So I agree with the theory that Shawn and Gus would also likely also have heard that version first.

Anyway, this episode is excellent and hilarious as usual. And as an 80s teen, I naturally always had a bit of a crush on Judd Nelson. Of course, I'm psyched he made it onto the show. I just wish he could have gotten an episode specifically written to celebrate his appearance, maybe if he got more scenes or even more episodes, like Ally Sheedy, Anthony Michael Hall, or even the guy from Tears For Fears. Or maybe I just don't love the clunky scene at the end when he shows up at the Psych office, and since it's the last scene, it leaves a bad aftertaste. So I have to take a point off my rating for that. 🍍
