Springfield Elementary strikes oil on its school grounds and Mr Burns steals it.

This is a classic episode with a cleverly written plot and strong character moments.

The first part of the story lays is about build up and lays out some of the clues relating to Mr Burns' shooting. It does it in a very funny way, with a great running joke of Mr Burns' inability to remember Homer's name and numerous other gags.

Several characters are used for great laughs and to serve the plot, such as Smithers, Abe, Moe, Barney, Skinner, and Chalmers. The writing and performance of the Burns character makes his evilness hilarious. Homer's exasperation and reactions to Burns are all superb.

For me it's a 9.5/10 but I round upwards.
