Watched this on recommendation from Perrin cos she thought I'd like it ... and I did.
All the cast are very good ... as is the story and it's pretty well told. The girl's family are all very likeable ... although welcoming a weird stranger who turns up at your door in the way that they do is a bit of a stretch.
The 'fiance' turning up is a bit of a WTF moment ... and the explanation that he's a bit mental and won't accept that she dumped him is a bit disappointing. Why didn't she happen to mention it to anyone in her family? At all...??
The other side of the coin - her getting stranded at his country mansion - is a lot more believeable ... and has more heart. There's more story there too .... with the wife dying and the lying about going to army school when he's really at drama school.
A nice, well-done film to watch in the early days of December (ie not really that Chrismassy).
