Detective Terry Seattle (Will Arnett) takes on Jason Bateman as his new trainee. They go to the mayor's office party. The lights go out and Santa is murdered. Johnny Blaze (Sean Hayes) is the volunteer Santa Claus. Pete Davidson and Maya Rudolph later join as more trainees.
It's stupid fun. Bateman, Rudolph, and Davidson are all kept in the dark with the script. They are essentially doing improv while Will Arnett throws comedic roadblocks in their way. Bateman is a sarcastic b and he gives as good as he takes. Sean Hayes is the one who cannot stop laughing. He is a giggle machine. Rudolph is as quick as anyone else. It's nice for these guys to have some stupid fun.
