As an adult, it was too weird for me. A blood-sucking flea is transformed through chemistry into a seven-foot tall, dancing, guitar maestro who can't speak but who sings like a castrato. He doesn't make his first REAL appearance until the 35 minute mark. Before that, nothing interesting happens, just a loose connection of clichéd, two-dimensional characters: the phony lothario, his love struck, loser pal, and the two hot girls they like: a stage siren and a shy librarian type. The movie has a beautiful look, but the slow start and the jaw-dropping premise stopped the film cold. The music was passable, though.
