Respectful Documentary about one of Hollywood's Most Beautiful Star

A fun documentary with the Real Tab Hunter himself recounting a passed life and his life today. Its not salacious by any means. In fact, its more of a journey of him finding meaning to his choice profession.

In the film, you'll learn that it was not really a plan that he would be an actor BUT he got there AND develop the love that would push him to new heights. One of the more famous beefcakes stars of the 50s, he was a matinee superstar BUT mix of mediocre talent and changing eras has sideline him to the limelight. He persisted and found a way to improve and find limelight in small places. All while trying to hide his homosexuality AND skating behind the scenes with his dalliances.

Its not as salacious as I had it expected. In fact, its very retrospective of his career AND how his 'secret' affected his career. AND I think what I love about it is that it never really put the fall of his career and equated it to his gayness. Rather he actually points to his own flaws and decisions and openly address it in the film. He was also open in knowing that he is a product. No tragedies. Just a journeyman riding the waves and ultimately found his peace.

I respect Tab for that. He is very grounded in a wholly self-masturbatory industry.

Highly recommended.
