There were so many amazing movies that came out in 2022 but this one.. This one took me by surprise. I will say, had I watched any sort of trailer for it beforehand, it would greatly lessened the impact that it had on me. I'm grateful I went in blind because what resulted from my viewing experience was nothing short of devastation. The escalating terror the family finds themselves in which starts with friendliness and then awkwardness, rudeness, and then finally pure evil was nothing short of brilliant. I wasn't expecting so much unbridled nihilism and despair from a movie that started out so happy. The end result left me sobbing uncontrollably.
