The Bombardment by Ole Bornedal seems at first glance as another WW2 movie, with a more personal point of view on the war, along with a terrible and tragic accident that happened along the way.

But looking further into the film, it is honestly a really good one. Mostly because it centers around multiple characters, specifically children.

To see such a movie from the point of view of children who went through the war was definitely a good experience. Not only because the movie centers around the accidental Bombardment of a school, but seeing the innocence of kids and their way of pursuing life was really uplifting and joyful to watch.

Some of the scenes I want to mention In details are mainly at the start of the film: One scene occurs when the secret Danish police that works with the Nazis in Copenhagen hunt and kill a deserter, the scene is shown from the P. O. V of two girls who each react differently to the act - Eva the danish girl and Greta the daughter of a Nazi officer.

The second scene is when the 3 kids, Henry, Rigmor and Eva go to school and stop by the bakery to buy a bit of bread. The scene is filmed in a suspenseful, scary and frightening way on purpose because it's meant to imitate the reaction of the kids to a scary situation.

I found the second scene to be amusing, for a war film it was nice and a good idea to involve a moment of innocence and joy among kids.

As much as I'd like to talk about the other characters shown in the movie, I believe the main focus was on the children themselves, even the parents serve a minor role. Proving the importance of having certain characters take the spotlight.

Overall, a really good film, centering around a tragic accident involving the main characters of the film.
