Scream VI (2023)
8/10
Fun 'Franchise' Flick

Warning: Spoilers
The Good: Scream VI has one of the best introductions in the franchise and that's saying something as it competes with many iconic and nostalgic openings. It immediately catches the audience and blends with the movies catchphrase 'New York New Rules'. We are then introduced to past characters and some new suspicious side characters who don't have as strong characterisations as I would've liked them to. If you are going to this film for its renowned gore look no further as it does not disappoint, with some of the audience even covering their eyes to avert to brutal kills. Finally the humour was really good as I found myself laughing at characters sometimes even if the scene wasn't intentionally meant for humour.

The Bad: This opinion may be unpopular but I did unfortunately find the anticipated twist anticlimactic as I felt it was rather predictable. The film also is unrealistic when dealing with characters surviving heavy fatal wounds. Lastly a few melancholic moments in the film had me quite bored with wanting to quickly fast forward to the 'juicy bits'.

Overall: This movie is a solid prequel to the requel and could be one of the best in the franchise excluding the original.
