This is a well-meaning classic from the mid eighties that somehow ended up in our Netflix recommends.
Looking it up, the Ivan Reitman film was supposed to be a comedy thriller.
Not really sure about the comedy parts, though some mild ironies might pass.
However, it is a legal drama and passable as such.
Think if you watched an old Hill Street Blues or original Law and Order--where offerings did focus on cases, but mainly on the interaction of characters there.
Debra Winger (Laura Kelly) and Robert Redford (Tom Logan) carry their weight, as do a number of well known character actors in supporting roles.
Unfortunately, in my opinion at least, Daryl Hannah. (Chelsea Deardon) does not. And the movie is made weaker by her performance.
Was it a passable, well meaning couple of hours? Yes. And great to see faces I remember.
Would I recommend it to friends or watch it again? No.
