Ron Mann has a good eye for choosing the subjects of his documentaries, but they do not stand out for the depth of his coverage. In its place, Mann takes the historical value and the importance of preserving national memory, inherent in his documentaries, and sacrifices these aspects for a certain simplicity that overlooks or trivializes the controversial edges, or the material of real drama. It seems as if the filmmaker preferred to emphasize the entertainment value to the detriment of his work. It is a shame, because films like «Altman», «Comic Book Confidential» and this one had the potential to be valuable documents.
