Deep Blue Sea 3 (2020 Video)
9/10
I wasn't expecting this to be this good.

As b-movies with sharks go, this was one of the best I've came across in many years. Up until two days ago I had no idea this one existed and I'm glad I've seen it now.

I always enjoyed the original movie for trying to do something original with the shark theme and still be fun while not taking itself seriously and this part 3 totally keeps with the original spirit.

I bought a Blu-ray box set with the three deep blue sea movies and after the second one which was not that much interesting for mostly being a low budget remake of the first one, I wasn't expecting 3 to do anything special.

I was wrong. Not only 3 tries very hard to give us a different setting , but it's way more original than it looks. It does not feel like a low budget movie most of the time , the characters are good, the chemistry with the cast is there and it has a sense of high sea adventure that was missing on the other two.

I really enjoyed this movie and I may even say that I liked this one now better than the original too. I love that the action switched to underwater in several scenes, the sharks are well done and the movie balances really well between a shark movie with the typical structure and a fun action adventure movie at sea.

The set design is excellent and we really feel we are isolated in the middle of the ocean with the characters. The main lead girl hero has great charisma and keeping up with the tradition there's one great death out of the blue in this one too.

Deep blue sea 3 , really manages to give us a different take on a genre that is overcrowded and it manages to do it really well.

I loved it.

If you like fun b-movies and you like shark movies ignore the bad hype and low score here on IMDb and give this one a chance.

I'm glad I bought it.
