Dungeons & Dragons (1983–1985)
8/10
A charming animated adventure left sadly unfinished
14 April 2023
The series starts straight to the point and how it starts is only explained through the introduction, it really is a quite entertaining children's animated series. It has a certain charm in terms of its characters and stories. At first it offers a start without continuity, but once you get to know the characters, you understand what the thing is about. As you progress, the level increases and most episodes become more and more emotional, generating more empathy towards the characters. The rhythm does not change, but little by little it focuses more on the odyssey of the characters and on the protagonists themselves. The excitement increases more and the difficulties also as the last episodes are reached, where the series manages to reach its greatest climax, offering more exciting adventures, preparing the protagonists for the end. There are some continuity errors that become noticeable in the animation in the later episodes, but the plot continues without losing its tone or rhythm. It's a fun and fantastic ride that starts off well, doesn't disappoint later on and pushes you deeper. Unfortunately, they decided to cancel the series just as the final episode was already being worked on, which is a shame and even somewhat unfair. Without a doubt, this series of "Dungeons & Dragons" has been an enjoyable series and another eighties gem with a certain charm that unfortunately was left unfinished and deserved to have had an ending. My final rating for this series is an 8/10.
