Early Bergman at his best
17 April 2023
Ingmar Bergman is without a doubt one of the greatest filmmakers who ever lived, most people would maybe even claim he is the best, and I am not one to dispute this claim.

And whilst his peak is often said to be during the 1950s, his earlier films are masterpieces to be sure as well. Such as this incredibly well acted drama - already his unique touch and cinematography is ever present, and like no one else he plays with imagery and metaphors as could be expected from Bergman.

Overall, an incredible entry in Bergman's filmography and swedish film history, that is a definite watch for any lover of film.
