An exciting historical adventure film with a good mix of humor, drama and action. Great costuming and set design and mostly good acting throughout.
Fight scenes with the tigers become less exciting the more of the CGI-tigers they show. Perhaps it's just the jungle setting, but I found some of the more suspenseful hunting scenes very reminiscent of classics like the Predator.
The melodrama is perhaps tuned up a bit too high towards the end and some of the character motivations remain slightly confusing. Some later scenes also suffer from abundant use of middling CGI, which especially effects the lighting and tension in some scenes.
The final act drags on for a bit too long and the plot becomes mostly self-evident after the first 40 minutes, but I still found myself entertained all the way to the end.
