Is his final appearance lying on the editing floor? Did he take the cop's car and will catch up with them later? Did he decide to stay and get some surfing in?
One minute he's there: and then we hear the mother shouting for him to get in the car: but we don't see him again.
I'm wondering whether he was killed, but it didn't go over well with audiences, so they cut the scene.
Anyway - that aside - the movie had potential, but for some exceptionally ridiculous decision making. Even for a horror movie.
For example, the dad's plan to 'draw' the creature back into the tank, right after he saw the cop being dragged off by the creature: when he climbed into the tank he immediately saw the cop's body floating around in the water, so the monster was obviously back in the tank ... so why continue with the plan?
So many other overly-frustrating situations, which usually make horror what it is .... just can't get over their disregard for Archie!
