I loved the original. I watched it a month ago before I even knew this edition was coming out. Pumped my brother up to watch it and I had to switch shows halfway through the first episode. It just has so many cringe moments that it seems inappropriate to laugh.
If you watched the original show then yea, you will still get a lot of the jokes / backstory of what is happening. If not, you're just lost as hell of what's happening / the concept of the show. Will I still binge the rest of the show as it comes out? Heck yes. But I wish this season would have come out about 10 years ago, they waited too long.
